Greek Week

So I know I recently disappeared from the world this passed week. It was Greek Week on Western's campus and the Phi Mu's were busy winning at everything. The theme for the week was Greekopoly, Always game, never board. Our Spring Sing game was Uno, all of the girls involved from dancers, costumes, and props worked very hard for us to be announced numero Uno. Monday though Wednesday was the blood drive. Phi Mu came in third at the Blood Drive and we won the Bone Marrow Drive! Our Banner was worked on for many hours and in the end was well worth it as it was named number one as well. I am starting to notice a recurring theme here... Thursday was Events Day,the girls put in great efforts in categories such as water relay, penny toss, and egg toss. On Friday we made our way out to the AG farm to watch our girls excel in Tug for a third year in a row. We ended up in second place over all losing to KD. Saturday was events day and the Greek community came together to raise around $6,000 for Hotel Inc. a local organization helping to get unfortunate people back on their feet. Also on Saturday was a very cold and wet Spring Game, the football team divided up to play themselves in a little preview game. At convocation on Sunday Phi Mu was announced time and time again for various awards. I must say I was the most proud of Phi Mu for receiving the Karen Towell sisterhood award. Overall it was a great year for all the greeks and i am looking forward to see what Greek Week 2012 will bring.

I'm a Phi Mu, Stay a Phi Mu, Phi Mu till i die!!!

My Week So Far

Havent't posted on here in a while... It seems to me that April will be my busiest month so far this year. Over the weekend Taylor and i ventured with the rest of the Kappa Sig guys to Standing Stone in Tennessee for Spring formal. It was a great time but shockingly enough there was no cell phone service so i was completely out of communication for a few days. Sunday was my usual Sorority meeting which is always a nice way to end my week. We have had many Sisterhood events this week including a trip to Stakz for some yummy ice cream, water balloon fight with the Kappa Alphas, and some good ole fun at the ballpark for the WKU vs. Louisville game. Next week is greek week so campus will be kinda crazy for everyone. We start our first activity for it tomorrow as a sorority when we have a fire to get pumped up. I am super excited for Monday when the Phi Mu's will be coming to my house for dinner. Agh! I guess I better actually go clean my room some before it gets too crazy on campus.

Until Next Time

Ballpark Fever

Opening day is finally here and i couldn't be more excited. Finally baseball games that really matter. I do realize that March Madness is still going on. Go CATS! But in my world i love the Reds and all things baseball for that matter. This season as you get ready to go support your favorite team I have found a few MLB items worth the purchase.

My first pick is great for all those people who don't have a needlepoint belt and are tired of the same old brown or black leather one they have worn for years. You can always count on Vineyard vines for great looking products that can with stand the test of time. This belt is a for sure winner in my book!

My next pick is another Vineyard Vines classic with a MLB spin on it. This tote is perfect for all the ladies to carry from the pool, to the beach, and to all those classes you wish you weren't sitting in. I am in love with this tote and i hope you will be too.

My Final item that i am in love with probably would not look quite as cute on me as it would Darling Baby Bailey. I think all the little reds fans need one for game day, or everyday for that matter. I am now wondering if I can pull off a bow? Is 18 years passed the limit for wearing hairbows? Check it out.  Reds Hair Bow

P.S Since i wasn't able to post this until late i will add that the Reds pulled out a win today.

GO REDS!!!

BOOKS!

I love reading and even though i don's have nearly enough time to read during the school year as i would like. I have already chosen some books for my next beach read.

Here are a few of my past favorites and future reads. <smile>

The whole Pretty Little Liars Series are quite possibly my favorite books. I have finished it all and i was completely addicted the throughout all of the books. I think they were way better than the TV series is. Check them out.

I have a deep love of cooking and their is one cookbook that i can't wait to get a hold of. The Wasp Cookbook. It is very interesting to look through because it is divided into events rather than by course. I can't wait to order mine. I am thinking i will be cooking a Derby Dinner before the Derby because i am just that excited.

My newest book that any classy, preppy, person needs is the book True Prep. I have just started reading it and i absolutely love it. It will most definately be placed on my coffee table... or well once i actually have a coffee table. The dorms just don't have sufficient furniture...

I found this next book while shopping on amazon.com recently and i am obsessed to say the least. I actually already ordered it and I am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. A Southern Belle Primer: Why Princess Margaret will Never be a Kappa Kappa Gamma looks like it will be just too much fun to read. I will post a review after I finish reading it. I'm not going to make any promises though on when it will actually get read. Darn College!

Another Small note: I have a nook and absolutely love it! I have the cutest Lilly Pulitzer cover on it and it feels almost like a real book. I can't wait to head to Destin with my Nook in hand for some like beach reads. However i do enjoy having certain books that i will most definately feel the need to share in a hard copy.

I am off to class. Have a fabulous Tuesday and think of poor me as i suffer through Astronomy... <tear>

Shopping Advice from a Shopaholic

I love shopping and feel the need to share a few of my favorite websites with all of you.

Ebay is great for finding those items that you just can't pay full price for. But remember to check feedback and read the whole discription before bidding. I have gotten some great bargains such as my Vineyard Vines jumper, but i have also gotten ripped off, so be careful.

I do not know if etsy.com has been around for a long time or not but i have recently discovered it and think it is wonderful. I especially love the headbands available from http://www.etsy.com/shop/looking4lilly they are just too stinkin' cute and have awesome prices. I can't wait to get my hand on one or five.

These are member websites where membership is free and you can get huge discounts.

ideeli.com          www.ideeli.com/invite/hannahbelle1430
hautelook.com
beyondtherack.com            http://www.beyondtherack.com/member/invite/B35C963A
jetsetter.com
gilt.com
swirl.com

I find huge deals on all of these and you get kickbacks for making multiple purchases.

I am also a fan of consignment shopping. A few tips for that is you can't go into a store with a certain item in mind, you must roll with what you find. Don't go if you are in a rush, it will be a waste of time. I like to set aside some time one day and go to multiple shops in a row. I find great items at my local consignment stores including, Lilly Pulitzer swimsuit, Ralph Lauren Oxfords, Lacoste Polo, and Minnetonka Mocassins to name a few.

Any great websites anyone would like to share would be greatly appreciated. I always love finding a good deal.

I never pay full price for anything so now i hope you won't either. Best of shopping luck!

Ten Things Every Girl Needs

1. A great cup. I love this one from http://www.marleylilly.com It is somewhat spill proof and just TOO darn cute. I can't wait to get mine in.

2.  A Pandora Bracelet. I love mine and all of my charms are compliments of Taylor. <smile>
I have a laughing Buddha, a four leaf clover, the lots of love bead, a valentines bead, and the forget me not bead. I love each and everyone and cannot wait to acquire more.
3. A great black dress. Mine is from the J.Crew Factory store and it is perfect. I can dress is up with some awesome jewelry and heels, or i can slip on a pair of cute sandals and where it to dinner. I can't wait to get it on this summer.
4. I am in love with all things vinyard vines and some of my favorite things in the newest line are the Seersucker Patchwork shorts, The Patchwork classic tote, and Of course their coozies are the cutest and a summer necessity.
5. A sorority girl can never have too many lettered shirts either. I am in love with all of mine but my favorite one is from my Big Sis. It is red short sleeved with the burberry plaid letters stitched on. How can you beat Burberry Plaid? I loved it so much i had a matching sweatshirt made. It is black crewneck with the plaid letters. Adorable!
6.Every girl needs a set of pearls. If you don't have any i advise you move them to every gift list you may have. They are a perfect staple to any classy wardrobe. I prefer a very classic size over anything large although that is purely preferance.
7. I am in love with headbands and bows. I wear a headband basically everyday and my collection is always growing. I am open to any suggestions of places to find cute headbands/ hair accessories. I am needing some more spring print ones to add on as the weather warms and summer fast approaches.
8. A really nice wallet. I love my Hobo wallet i received for graduation. Taylor always gets me the best gifts. Hobo wallets are great because they make it super easy to stay organized with a couple separate compartments and their size is perfect. They are just big enough to carry by themself, or drop it down in a purse and it fits just fine. I have the very classic brown leather but i love the fun spring colors as well. Big Decisions!
9. While i myself am not in need of any bowties. I am in love with them and I am so glad that Taylor loves them as well. Some of my favorite places for bowties and clothes to remain frattastic are, Brooks Brothers, Southern Proper, and my newest is high cotton ties.  I enjoy the headbands you can find in the coordinating patterns. Just wait till i reveal the easter outfit i have planned.
10. My last and most essential thing is priceless. Every girl needs great friends and a even greater family. Im lucky to be surrounded by the best family their is. I have some pretty awesome friends too. Not to mention i have 105 sisters. I can't wait as the weather warms up for Pool Party Saturdays to start back up for another great  summer.
The family in Keystone Colorado. (Mark, Patty, Nick, Katie,John, Laura, Dan, Hannah, Baker, and Bailey)

Now it's off to bed for me. Long day ahead tomorrow.
Church in the morning followed by a long day of homework. Then of course sorority meeting and family dinner. As well as my weekly date night with Taylor. AGH! too much for one day.

Good Night, Blonde Belle
